Peace Work
THE PEACE CENTER is a branch of the Theosophical Society in the Philippines that endeavors to plant seeds of peace in the hearts of men and women. It believes that self-transformation is the ultimate foundation of all lasting reform towards peace and harmony. Laws and treaties are but external attempts to remedy the symptoms of internal violence and conflict.
Anyone who feels sympathy with this vision may wish to help in the various works of the Peace Center:
Peace Ideas. A publication that digests practical ideas on inner and outer peace.
Self-Transformation Seminars. A two-day seminar that deals with inner and outer conflict, with self-mastery, and transcendence. Through the peace organization Kalinaw Mindanao of the Mindanao State University, the Peace Center has initiated the training of facilitators that will eventually involve thousands of teachers and students in Mindanao, as part of a long-term program to bring about genuine understanding among the different religions and cultures in southern Philippines.
Peace Library. A Peace Library at its headquarters is open to the public everyday except Tuesday, from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. The address is: Peace Library, 1 Iba Street, Quezon City, Philippines.
Networking. The Peace Center cooperates with various peace organizations around the world to pursue common visions for the betterment of humanity.
The Board of Trustees of the Center is composed of the following:
Vicente R. Hao Chin, Jr. (Chairman), Rudy Rodil (Executive Director), Flerida Ruth P. Romero, Leticia R. Shahani, Concepcion L. Madarang, Luis Torres, Leonardo Salazar and Patricia G. Muñoz (Trustees).
