Mysterious celestial bodies that are mentioned in The Mah€tma Letters to A. P. Sinnett. In one letter (No. 93B), the Mah€tma KOOT HOOMI states that one such “king-star” is right behind Jupiter, but which has not been seen by any physical eye. The letter is apparently describing not a physical star because it says that “it would appear, through the best telescope with a power of multiplying its diameter ten thousand times, still a small dimensionless point, thrown into the shadow by the brightness of any planet; nevertheless — this world is thousands of times larger than Jupiter.” It is said to be one of the factors that cause the violent disturbance in Jupiter’s atmosphere as well as its red spot.
