Paranirvāna

“Beyond nirv€Ša.” In the writings of Helena P. BLAVATSKY, it refers to the state of cosmic rest or mah€-pralaya, and equated it with paraïishpanna (absolute perfection) during the unmanifested state of the universe (SD I:42). Charles W. LEADBEATER equates this state with the Anupšdaka plane, or the plane above the štmic plane.

As a concept it is to be distinguished from Buddhist parinirv€Ša (parinibbana [P]), which refers to the state of liberation of an enlightened person after he dies or leaves behind the physical body.
