Agastya Rishi

Traditionally believed to be the author of the Ṛg Veda, one of the large body of texts held to be sacred by orthodox Hindus, and who is revered in Southern India. Agastya is a great hero in the RĀMĀYANA. In Tamil literature he is said to have been the first instructor of the DRAVIDIANS in religion, science and philosophy.

Annie BESANT wrote that this Rishi is the Regent of India for thousands of years. He is said to be residing in South India.
