(Āgneyāstra) Mentioned in the texts of the PURANAS and the MAHABHARATA, the term refers to the fiery weapons used by the Gods; also said to be the magic weapons used by the adept-race, the fourth, at the time of the Atlanteans. The term is used only once by Helena P. BLAVATSKY in her The Secret Doctrine, “. . . The nether Lords of the Fires, (the Gnomes and the fire Elementals) are preparing their magic Agneyastra (fire-weapons worked by magic) . . .” (SD II:427).
