Prarabdha Karma

A Sanskrit term denoting the Karma which is to be operative during the present life. In Hinduism it is said to be that part of the total effect of past actions which has begun to take effect with the creation of the present physical body. Pr€rabdha-karma cannot, it is said, be averted, avoided or modified by supplications by the individual. See also Karma.
