(1855-1944). Russian theosophist and translator. Pissareva joined the Theosophical Society (TS) in 1903. She was born on November 7, 1855, the daughter of a Russian nobleman, and was educated at Heidelberg University. She married Nikolai Pissareff. Pissareva was the Founder-President of the Kaluga Lodge (Russia) and helped the theosophical movement by making her home the center for congresses and summer schools. She built a People’s Palace and worked ten years for the good of the peasants. After the downfall of the Romanoff regime she fled from Russia with Anna Kamensky. She died on August 4, 1944.

Pissareva translated into Russian much of the earlier theosophical literature including a biography of Helena P. Blavatsky. In 1934 she was awarded the Subba ROW Medal for her literary work.
