League of Parents and Teachers

An organization formed by C. Jinaršjadšsa in India on December 28, 1915, and with Justice T. Sadasiva Iyer as its President. It had the following objects: 1. To bring about the abolition of corporal punishment both in homes and schools; 2. To spread among parents and teachers a knowledge of the latest ideas in educational science which affect the training of children. The League conducted lectures, published pamphlets, translated books, and had centers in various cities in India.
