(1862- 1941). The first General Secretary of the New Zealand Section, serving from 1896 to 1897. An active member of the TS, Adyar, who lectured extensively and contributed significantly to theosophical literature, she was born in New Zealand on January 8, 1862, and had a brilliant academic career being the first woman to take a Master of Arts degree in New Zealand. She joined the Theosophical Society (TS) in 1891.

In 1898 she was honored by an award of a special gold medal for outstanding contribution to theosophy. She was Principal of the Girl’s College at the Central Hindu College from 1913 to 1919 and tutored the sons of the Maharara Darbhanga in Behar State in India from 1919 to 1929.
