Chit

A Sanskrit term which has a wide range of meanings, such as “consciousness” (or “pure consciousness”), “awareness,” “understanding,” etc. depending on the context in which it is used. It is usually written as cit (or cid when the following letter is a sonant). See SAT-CHIT-ANANDA.
