A term used in theosophical literature to refer to superior beings, such as a Deity, DHYANI-CHOHAN, LOGOS, DEVA, DEMIURGE, ARCHANGEL, AH-HI, etc., including primeval principles such as AŠus or occult atoms (CW X:371). They belong to a cosmic hierarchy in the different stages of involution and evolution. The word is also occasionally used to refer to unknown invisible entities evoked during spiritualistic seances.
