(1870-?). Daughter of  Rev. Frank Besant and Annie Besant who was the second President of the Theosophical Society (TS).  Married in 1892 to Ernest Scott. She joined the TS in 1890 and assisted Helena P. BLAVATSKY in the compilation of the index to ''The Secret Doctrine''. She and her husband moved to Australia where she worked for the TS at Melbourne, starting the first TS magazine there. Mabel Scott resigned from the TS on May 5, 1934, following the death of her mother.
